Tim Byrd is Vice President and General Counsel for G3 Enterprises, Inc., a real estate, manufacturing, mining and global logistics company owed by the Gallo family and based in Modesto, California. Before joining G3 he was Deputy General Counsel to E. & J. Gallo Winery, where he focused on land use, real estate, environmental, water law and government relations for 30 years.
Tim started his legal career at McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen, now part of Morgan Lewis, where he worked with renowned California land use attorney Dan Curtin. While at McCutchen Tim wrote articles on land use issues for legal publications and taught courses on land use law at UC Extension. He has been a panelist at several environmental law conferences.
Tim has served on advisory committees to the US EPA, the California ARB, and the San Joaquin Valley Air District as well as the Air Quality Committee of the Manufactuer’s Council.
Tim also served as a Stanislaus County Planning Commissioner and is a founding board member of the California Farmland Trust. He was a trustee on his local school board and was appointed to several local education-related committees.
Tim currently services on the Sutter Health Valley Board, the Stanislaus County Homeless Alliance and the Glass Packing Institute Management Committee.
Tim holds a bachelor's degree, MBA and law degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
Tim and his wife of 43 years, Suzanne, are natives of the Modesto area, farm almonds on their ranch west of Modesto, where they raised their six children and now entertain their 9 grandchildren. They are members of Blue Diamond Growers and the Stanislaus County Farm Bureau.
