Jacquelyn served on the Butte County Planning Commission for four years beginning in 2015. She teaches Global Economic Geography and Geography and World Affairs, and has also taught Latin American Studies, Urban
Geography, and Research and Writing in Geography, as well as courses abroad. Her research on the Camp Fire is part of a broader interest. Her team is studying the evolving displacement of survivors of the Camp Fire in Butte County. The data, in land use planning and migration in rural areas, is being studied in both the United States and Brazil.
