"Water Acquisitions in the Walker River Basin"

Ashley Downing is the Manager of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s (NFWF) Walker Basin Restoration Program. She oversees program management and grant coordination for the Walker Basin Program, as well as managing the Desert Terminal Lake Program which oversees grants in the other Desert Terminal Lake basins (Carson River, Truckee River and Summit Lake basins). Ashley has been with NFWF for 3 years and has become increasingly familiar with local farming, irrigation and land management practices within the basin. This position has helped her to develop and maintain many significant partnerships with private landowners, local, tribal, and state entities. In 2010, Ashley received a Master of Arts in International Environmental Policy from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Colorado Boulder.
